Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her the city she grew up in after her birthplace. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author as well as editors. Ryder's dad came from the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria and two half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder relocated together with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. There, they didn't have electricity. Ryder was a consummate bookworm and would spend her days reading books because there was no TV. In 1983 when she was 12 Ryder joined the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In the year she turned fifteen, she landed her very first role onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her high school years. Ryder was hopeful that her work as an actress could bring about change. But it wasn't to come to pass. But she continued to chase the dreams she had. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her debut big breakthrough. Ryder was able to continue playing parts that proved successful in several movies. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one for The Age of Innocence (1996).
