Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people, and achieved superstar status by his folk-inspired pop hits most of which were based in Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico he fell in over Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. More than a few people traveled through Colorado after hearing Denver's popular tunes for the state he was raised in. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared in his report that John Denver was the best singer to have captured Colorado. Denver became the one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Denver is the icon of Colorado to many around the world. People you meet in other countries, like New Zealanders. You say "I come from Colorado" and they instantly respond with Oh John Denver. Brown admitted. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief stint in a folk group and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff composed the track with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered an early version and knew it was going to be a top 10 smash. A few days after performing for a packed crowd at Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
